My husband booked first-class seats for himself and his mother, and then handed me three economy-class tickets with the children – so I taught him a lesson before the plane even took off.

I smiled.

I didn't argue. I didn't raise my voice. I didn't make a scene in front of the children.

I simply took the three economy class tickets, put them in my bag, and looked at Roger.

"You're right," I said calmly. "Enjoy the flight with your mom."

He smiled smugly, convinced that he had won.

His mother even gave me a satisfied look before walking towards the priority boarding line.

But there was one small detail that Roger had forgotten…

I was the one who had booked absolutely the entire trip.

While they waited to board, I took out my phone and dialed a number.

—Good morning, this is Laura. I need to make a small change to my reservation at the Bahía Azul Hotel.

The receptionist recognized my name immediately.

—Of course, ma'am. How can we help you?

I took a deep breath.
I want to cancel the master suite where my husband and mother-in-law were registered.
